The dining car is half split with the cafe car, so I picked the pricier one tonight. From a selection of dinner choices, I ordered roasted sliced turkey with rice and veggies for $14, including a roll, small dinner salad (iceberg lettuce and tomatoes), and coffee/tea/milk. I also ordered a $5 glass of wine (cabernet sauvignon - Stone Cellars by Beringer). The food was tasty, hit the spot; and that's the point, right? Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry

One CSX train we passed by took over 5 minutes. And I spotted several more trains.

When new passengers sit in seats, a conductor asks where they are going and marks the destination with a code, e.g. CIN in these pictures for Cincinnati. While I could choose my seat in DC, folks in Staunton, Virginia are given pink slips with seat assignments.

Conductor said it is also a designated smoke break. I'll use that as a time to breathe outdoor air. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry
